Notice the extension column doubles once you are outside the Kingdom. That gap catches travellers who assumed extending would cost the same wherever they are.
Pro Tip: Extend before the original visa lapses, even at the higher outside rate. An expired visa abroad voids your Iqama status entirely, which costs far more to fix than any extension fee.
Why Non-Saudi Workers Rarely Pay Directly?
Most sponsored employees never see this fee on a personal bill.
Issuing the visa is the employer’s responsibility for sponsored staff. The charge lands on the establishment’s Absher Business account, not the worker’s SADAD.
Self-sponsored residents and Premium Residency holders are the exception. They typically pay directly through their own Absher account.
How Payment Actually Works?
The fee is settled through SADAD, against the specific exit and re-entry bill code generated in Absher.

No Refunds, Even If You Cancel

All exit and re-entry visa fees are non-refundable. This applies even when the visa is cancelled before travel and never used.
If plans fall through, you choose between letting the visa expire unused or cancelling it. Cancelling avoids a separate late fine. Neither route returns the fee.
Extending From Outside Saudi Arabia
Plans change while travelling, and this remains possible without flying back first.
Sponsors and self-sponsored residents can extend through Absher while the holder is still abroad. The catch is the doubled per-month rate shown in the table above.
