This Advertising Policy explains how KSA Guides is funded, which kinds of advertising and commercial links can appear on ksaguides.com, and the rules we follow to keep advertising separate from our guides. It sits alongside our Editorial Policy, Privacy Policy and Disclaimer.
1. How KSA Guides is funded
Every guide on KSA Guides is free to read. There is no subscription, no paywall and no charge for any calculator or lookup tool. The site is funded by display advertising and, on some pages, by affiliate links. We receive no funding from the Saudi government or any official authority, and no authority reviews or approves what we publish.
2. Display advertising
KSA Guides shows display advertising through third-party advertising networks. Those networks, not KSA Guides, choose which individual adverts you see. Adverts are placed in fixed slots around the content and are never styled to look like part of a guide.
Advertising networks may use cookies and similar technologies to select and measure adverts. How that works, and how you can control it, is set out in our Privacy Policy.
3. Affiliate links
Some guides contain affiliate links. If you follow one and buy something, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate links never change what we recommend, and we do not accept a commission in return for a favourable mention.
4. What advertising cannot buy
- No paid placement in guides. No company can pay to be named, recommended or ranked in a guide.
- No paid links. We do not sell links in our content, and we do not accept “guest posts” written to carry a link.
- No influence over findings. Advertisers see no guide before it is published and have no right of review.
- No advertising that imitates editorial. Sponsored material, if we ever publish any, will be labelled clearly at the top of the page.
5. Adverts we refuse
We ask our advertising partners to exclude categories that would be inappropriate next to guides about residency and government paperwork, including visa-fixing and “guaranteed approval” services, unlicensed financial products, and anything that implies an official connection to a Saudi authority. Automated networks can still occasionally serve something that slips through. If you see an advert on this site that looks misleading, tell us through the contact page and we will report it to the network.
