This Corrections and Fact-Checking Policy explains how KSA Guides checks facts before a guide is published, how we keep guides current, and how we correct mistakes once they are found. It expands on the corrections section of our Editorial Policy.
1. Our commitment to accuracy
Our guides cover Iqama and residency, visas, Absher and government platforms, and the balance and number codes of Saudi mobile networks. This is information that affects people’s legal status, their money and their travel plans. A wrong fee, an outdated USSD code or a superseded deadline can cost a reader real money or a wasted trip to a government office. We would always rather find and fix a mistake than leave it in place, and we correct errors openly rather than quietly.
2. How we check facts before publishing
Every guide goes through the same checks before it goes live:
- Official source first. Each fee, rule, deadline and process is traced to the authority that sets it, such as Absher, the General Directorate of Passports (Jawazat), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Muqeem, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, the General Organization for Social Insurance (GOSI) or the operator’s own site. Blogs and forums can suggest a question, but never supply the answer.
- Two sources for data that changes. Fees, fines, USSD codes and other fast-moving figures are confirmed against at least two independent official or first-hand sources.
- Figures checked line by line. Every SAR amount, date, deadline, phone number, SMS short code, USSD code and portal address is checked against the source at the time of writing.
- Links tested. Links to official portals are opened and checked to make sure they lead to the right page.
- No invented detail. If we cannot confirm something, we say so in the guide rather than filling the gap with a plausible guess.
3. Keeping guides current
Saudi fees, portal names and app steps change often, and most of the bad information online comes from guides that were right once and were never revisited. Guides are re-checked on a rolling schedule and revised whenever a fee, code, eligibility rule or app flow changes. When a guide is revised, the updated date on the page changes with it, so the date you see is the last verification rather than the first publication.
4. How we correct mistakes
- Factual errors are fixed as soon as they are confirmed against the official source.
- Significant corrections — a wrong fee, an incorrect eligibility rule, a step that would send a reader to the wrong place — are noted on the page so readers can see what changed.
- Minor fixes such as typos, broken links and formatting are made without a note.
- Superseded guidance is rewritten rather than deleted, so links to the page keep working and readers land on the current answer.
5. Telling us about an error
If something on this site looks wrong or out of date, please tell us. Use the contact page and include the page address and, where you can, a link to the official source that shows the correct position. We check every report against the official source and reply to the ones that need a reply.
6. What this policy is not
KSA Guides is an independent publisher. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of any Saudi government authority, telecom operator or bank. Our guides explain official rules in plain English, but the official source is always the final word. See our Disclaimer for the full position.
